Tracy Chapman Show a Hit!

On March 13th we launched our monthly 2nd set album concept at Territorial Vineyards by covering Tracy Chapman’s self-titled album in its entirety. We were hoping for a good turnout, but we didn’t anticipate just what a hit it would be. The place was packed! And the response from the audience was overwhelmingly positive.
One highlight of the evening was when we performed “Behind The Wall”, the song that Tracy Chapman originally recorded a cappella (no instruments — just her single voice for the whole song.) We held true to Tracy’s intentions and also performed it a cappella, but we sang it together adding a harmony vocal to make it two-part. The crowd loved it! One person even commented that they didn’t want to listen to Tracy’s version anymore because it would pale in comparison! Quite the compliment — one I’ll remember for a long time to come.
Overall it was an amazingly fun evening and we ended the night feeling like we were on top of the world. Thanks to everyone who attended for making it such a success!

Excellent idea and concept, do you have anything to let us hear or see in video? I wish I could hear some pieces of you performing TC.
We’re working on recording our versions and soon (within the next few weeks) we will have some of our TC arrangements on the site. Thanks for the feedback!
